Have you ever worn hair extensions? If you have, I’m so jealous, you are amazingly confident! But for the rest of us chickens, we’re terrified to even try them, right? “They’re going to look fake!” “People will know!” “What if they fall out?!” Well I’m here to tell you, it’s waaaaay easier than you think. I have no idea why I waited so long to try them.
As I was trying to find a third way to recycle this green holiday sweater, I wanted to do something really different, and tried this boho glam look. But I don’t have the requisite long, beachy waves like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley when she wears a floppy hat. So I decided to fake it.
I went to Ulta, and looked at the entire row devoted to extensions, and was a little overwhelmed. But once I figured out what color I needed for my grown-out ombré, it was ridiculously easy to put them in and actually wear them. These are the hairdo. 16″ Ombré Extension by Ken Paves – yes, Jessica Simpson’s hairstylist. You clip up the top half of your hair, snap in the extensions with the six super strong clips (these extensions will NOT budge), then let down the top half of your hair over them, and just blend it all together. Voila! Long glamorous hair!
And you know what, if others find out that they’re fake, who cares?! It’s a fun temporary accessory, and if you feel like a Victoria’s Secret supermodel for a few hours, then that’s all that matters 🙂
